Here are some wonderful examiner statements from observed debriefings

  • You should never use 1st gear for turning left or right from a major road into a minor road. 1st gear is not a driving gear and you should always use 2nd gear
  • You should never drive into hatched markings. However, you should have driven into the hatched markings much earlier before you turned right
  • It's all about awareness and planning
  • An excellent drive, but I'd have looked over my shoulder once more when you were reversing, there was nothing there; but what if there had been
  • You never looked around at all during the turn in the road, but when you did look you saw that car too late
